Fatmata Tunis-Momorie was born on November 9, 1969, in Sierra Leone. She spent her life embracing every opportunity with dedication and grace, leaving an indelible mark on those around her. As an entrepreneur, she built a thriving business empire in Florida, running fashion boutiques and African grocery stores that served as vital hubs for her community. Through these ventures, Fatmata provided economic opportunities, celebrated African culture, and offered spaces where people felt a sense of belonging. Her work ethic and business acumen were admired by many, and her success was a testament to her relentless drive and creativity.

Beyond her entrepreneurial achievements, Fatmata was a pillar of faith within her community. She served as a deaconess at her church, where she devoted herself to teaching the Word of God. Her passion for ministry went beyond the pulpit—she was a source of spiritual encouragement, sharing wisdom and hope with her congregation and loved ones. Fatmata’s commitment to her faith shaped her character, inspiring those around her to lead lives of integrity, kindness, and purpose. She was deeply devoted to her family, nurturing them with the same values she imparted to her church community.
Fatmata passed away on December 27, 2016, at the age of 47, but her legacy continues to flourish through the Fatmata Foundation. Founded by her husband Tamba and their children Abraham and Samuella, the foundation seeks to honor her memory by extending the love and care she showed in her life to underprivileged communities in Sierra Leone. By focusing on education, healthcare, and community development, the foundation embodies the values she cherished most. Fatmata’s life remains a source of inspiration, reminding us of the power of faith, determination, and love to transform lives and create lasting impact.
